Aquila showcased its new-season wares on the GQ runway at Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival last weekend. A penchant for plum, subtle camouflage and Ivy League cool were among the key trends that came out of what was showcased.
A Pop of Plum
Though it’s easy to fall into the pattern of only wearing black, white and grey, a touch of colour never goes astray. From formal to weekend casual, Aquila provided many sophisticated options to break through the monotones. There were pops of plum both on and off the runway.
Our opening look was a three-piece plum suit with bordo socks.

Dark Plaids
Playing into the rollneck-championing Ivy League theme, was an understated plaid on this season’s outerwear. Choose darker colours – like slate grey and navy – pairing the print with tonal separates.
